Ceramic, porcelain and other man made tiles occassionally need to be professionally cleaned.  Some of these tiles have textured areas that collect soil and make cleaning difficult.  Sometimes the tile and grout will become soiled due to improper cleaning or the use of improper cleaners.  The grout used on most tile floors is sanded which is porous and rough making it an easy target for dirt, this is one of the reasons that grout on floors is what usually gets dirty first.  Even the most aggressive home remedies do not do a good job of cleaning your tile and grout that is why it might be time to call Excel Stone and Tile Care.  Excel Stone and TIle Care has a cleaning process specifically designed to clean your tile and grout.

  • Pre-Inspection of your tile and grout to determine the best cleaning process
  • Apply the proper cleaning solution to the floor
  • Scrub floor with grout cleaning brushes and a floor machine
  • Power rinse the floor to remove all soap and soil
  • If needed re-scrub areas that need more attention
  • Clean corners and small areas by hand
  • Dry floor with a high speed dryer
  • Seal grout with a top of the line impregnator sealer

Here are some suggestions to help you care for your tile and grout:

  • Do not use bleach on your tile and grout (this can break down your sealer and damage your grout over time)
  • Sweep or vacuum your tile floor regularly and before cleaning
  • Clean up spills immediately
  • Clean with a neutral ph cleaner
  • Mop with your solution first, let dry and then rinse with clean water
  • Make sure your mop is clean and in good condition
  • Always test cleaner in an inconspicuous area
  • Remember that some latex backed area rugs may discolor your tile and grout
